Fit India School Certificate 2023

The Fit India School Certificate 2023 is a program developed by the Fit India Mission to promote physical fitness and active lifestyles in schools. The certification program has three levels: Basic Fit India School, Fit India Three Star School and Fit India Five Star School. To qualify for certification, schools must meet certain criteria related to physical education, sports facilities and programs, and student and teacher participation in physical activity.

What is fit India 

Fit India is a nationwide movement launched by the Government of India in 2019, with the goal of promoting physical activity and sports culture in the country. The initiative was launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, with the goal of encouraging Indians of all ages to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

There are several key components to the Fit India movement. The first is the promotion of physical activity in schools and colleges, through the introduction of sports and fitness programs. This includes the establishment of sports facilities and the training of teachers and coaches to lead these programs.

Another important aspect of Fit India is the emphasis on outdoor activities and the importance of spending time in nature. This includes initiatives such as the promotion of trekking, cycling, and other outdoor sports, as well as the development of public parks and green spaces.

About Fit India school free certificate

On August 29, 2019, the Honorable Prime Minister of India launched the Fit India Movement with the aim of promoting physical fitness as a way of life. The goal of the Fit India Movement is to encourage people to adopt active lifestyles instead of sedentary ones. In order to be successful, the Fit India Movement must become a widespread, mass movement. It is our responsibility to act as catalysts in this effort.

It is crucial that we prioritize teaching people “how to live” as a fundamental part of formal education. This involves instructing individuals on how to take care of their bodies and maintain their health on a daily basis. Therefore, schools should be the first formal institutions to teach and promote physical fitness, after the home.

To this end, the Fit India Mission has developed the Fit India School Certification program, which consists of the following primary criteria:

Fit India School:

• At least one teacher who is trained in physical education (PE) and is fit and active
• A park or playground where multiple outdoor sports can be played
• One PE period per day for each class, during which physical activities such as sports, dance, games, yogasanas, and PT are performed
• Every student should engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day

Fit India Three Star School:

• In addition to the above criteria, a school must also meet the following requirements to receive a 3-star rating:
• Every teacher should participate in at least one hour of physical activity per day
• Two teachers, including at least one PE teacher, who are trained or knowledgeable in at least two sports
• Fit India School Week held at the school
• Facilities for at least four sports, including two outdoor sports
• Every student learns and plays at least two sports, with at least one being a traditional, local, or indigenous sport

Fit India Five Star School:

• To receive the highest level of certification, a school must also meet the following criteria in addition to the 3-star requirements:
• The school holds sports competitions within the school every three months, competes with other schools, and holds an annual sports day
• PE is taught to all teachers
• The school has at least two coaches for sports, who can be PE teachers
• The school has a structured PE program as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), or the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT)
• All students undergo a fitness test once per year
• The school allows the surrounding community and parents to use its playgrounds before and after school hours, and this occurs frequently; reasonable fees for maintenance and security may be charged

Procedure for Obtaining Fit India Star Certification for Schools:

• Basic Fit India Schools can self-certify and register online at www.fitindia.gov.in. After registering, the school will receive a certificate online. Once a school has received its certificate, it may use the Fit India logo and flag.
• For 3-star or 5-star certification from Fit India, the school must submit its application online at www.fitindia.gov.in. The Fit India Mission will verify the accuracy of the application and then send a certificate and testimonial online and by post.
• The Prime Minister’s Awards will include a Fit India category. To help make the Fit India Movement a success, we request that you take the following actions:
• Inform all public and private schools in your state about the Fit India School Certification program and encourage them to pursue a Fit India ranking
• Organize appropriate programs to recognize and honor Fit India 3-star and 5-star schools at the state headquarters level
