The NCGG Internship Program offers selected students the opportunity to engage with various verticals and units of the National Centre for Good Governance, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.

This short-term program, lasting between 8 weeks to 6 months, aims to expose Indian youth to a range of governance and public policy concerns and involve them in finding solutions to obstacles in citizen-centric governance. It is important to note that participation in the internship program is temporary and does not grant interns the right to seek regular employment with the Centre.

Interns who are accepted into the program may be assigned to work on specific domains or topics, contributing to academic research and enhancing the functioning of NCGG.

Through practical techniques, the internship program aims to nurture the talents of young individuals, sharpen their knowledge and abilities, and bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. The ultimate objective is to expose students to the challenges of public policy and administration, fostering mutual benefit for both the interns and the organization.

Requirements for NCGG Internship Programme

1. All Indian students enrolled in studies in India or abroad are eligible for the internship programs.
2. Students with a bachelor’s degree, a postgraduate degree, a postdoctoral degree, or advanced academic degrees who are interested in interning as part of their dissertation or capstone project in their curriculum or who are awaiting their degree certificate after appearing in their final examination in the same academic year are eligible for internships.
3. During their last year of graduation, students participating in 4- or 5-year law and engineering programs are also eligible to apply for the internship.
4. At the time of application, the candidate’s age cannot be more than 30.
5. A recommendation letter from the university or other institution where the applicant is enrolled must be uploaded.

Duration: for the NCGG Internship Programme

To be eligible for an experience certificate, the internship duration is typically required to be completed successfully within a timeframe of 8 weeks or 6 months.

This ensures that interns have sufficient time to engage in meaningful work and gain valuable experience during their internship period. The experience certificate serves as a recognition of the intern’s accomplishments and contributions throughout their internship journey.

Selection Process:

1. The Centre will seek applications for internships via its website, www.ncgg.org.in.
2. An application may be submitted at any time during the year, ideally at least one month prior to the scheduled start of the internship.
3. All necessary information must be provided by applicants in order for the Centre to make a determination. Original transcripts, letters of reference or permission, and personal identification will be checked at the time of enrolment. False information submissions will be taken seriously, and applicants found to have provided false information will have their enrolment revoked.
4. Applications with missing information or those that do not meet the eligibility requirements will be immediately rejected by the system.
5. The selection process consists of preliminary application screening to shortlist applicants and in-person interviews, either online or offline. A committee formed by NCGG will conduct the screening and personal interviews. The format and details of the personal interview will depend on factors such as the number of applications, the Centre’s required intake for the specific month, and the chosen domains or areas by the candidates. Relevant information will be shared with the candidate in advance via email.
6. The total number of internships offered at any given time will not exceed 20. The list of selected candidates will be announced after the screening process and personal interviews. Successful candidates will receive a notification via email, including the joining date.
7. Internship applications may be periodically reviewed by a screening committee based on NCGG’s requirements.

Experience Certificate:

Based on the recommendations of the intern’s supervisor and the evaluation committee, the Centre will issue a certificate acknowledging the intern’s successful completion of the internship.

This certificate serves as official recognition of the intern’s achievements and the valuable experience gained during their time at the Centre.

2. Fill out the application form completely, providing accurate and relevant information.
3. Along with the filled application form, attach a scanned copy of the letter of permission or recommendation from your relevant educational institution. This document validates your eligibility and supports your application.
4. Send the fully completed application form and the scanned copy of the letter to ncgg-dopt@nic.in via email.
5. It is recommended to submit your application as soon as possible to secure your spot. The deadline for application submission is May 25, 2023. Applications received after this date may not be considered.
6. While filling out the application form, be specific about your anticipated start date and the duration of your availability for the internship. This information helps in the planning and allocation of internships.
